I think the reporter should have been checking on the lady in the car

What a diapersniper... why didn't he go and see if that woman was alright? If the car was smoking he could at least go turn the engine off...

"Well as you can see Cindy, the smaller sedan was hit at near fatal velocities. I'm gonna stand here and report on it. If she's injured, I'm not a medical doctor, so there's not much I can do. And if shes dead, its too late anyway. So I'll stand here and talk about how this relates to the story that got me out here in the first place. Honestly Cindy, fuck 'em they should pay more attention."

Wow, reporters.

Panicked people shouldn't play hero. They usually make the situation worse.

That said, you shouldn't blame the intersection. 55 crossings are all over the place. We have plenty in my area as well, and no one complains of accidents. People just need to stop being so stupid. Seriously, nothing at all was in the way of letting that woman see the truck... ITS RIGHT THERE LET ME SHOW YOU IT. :?

No ones asking anyone to put on the fireman's pants and pull lifeless bodies from burning wreckages. Just some sign of concern and interest.

And I agree, the truck was clearly visible, I think she was gonna try to run it, but then doubted herself. Then again, I don't think I heard any tire screech, did the truck try to stop?

not when a tv news crew is on the corner. ever see what that does to an environment? it's a visual magnet.

I blame the lady not paying attention to the road.

The camera guy and the talking head certainly are an untoward distraction.

So you're saying even the most alert driver would have gotten into that accident because of the camera crew that was there, and who was not directly blocking line of sight?

cmon. of course i'm not saying that, but i am saying that when you're doing a story on the most dangerous intersection in town, you should use your fucking brain about how you report on it...

hyperbole is often a good device for making a point...especially in situations where people act like idiots.
